Course

The 2011 Beach Century Bike Tour offers several options for riders including distances of 33 miles, 50 miles, or a full Century! We’ve worked hard to design a course that emphasizes safety, fun, challenge, and beauty. The course begins in the municipal area of Virginia Beach (near the Courthouse) and meanders south near Back Bay, taking advantage of the low-traffic roads in the area. It then turns west and crosses over the only climb on the course—the Pungo Ferry Bridge. From there, it passes by Northwest River Park, crosses VA-168 and continues west along beautiful farmlands in southern Chesapeake. After looping through Chesapeake on low-traffic roads, the riders will return along the same route. We are in the final stages of course approval with the local cities and we will be posting course maps and cue sheets in the very near future!
